CESENA ANNE TERESA DE KEERSMAEKER & BJÖRN SCHMELZER Tickets After last year's En Atendant – a work inspired by the Ars Subtilior, a polyphonic musical movement which emerged in southern France, northern Italy and Cyprus at the end of the 14th century – Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker presented her new creation entitled Cesena in the Cour d’Honneur of the Palais des Papes in Avignon. This incredibly beautiful choreography – born at dawn and ending at twilight – has entered the history of the Festival. For Cesena, she has turned to the same musical repertoire once again, this time in collaboration with Björn Schmelzer and his graindelavoixensemble. With George Enescu'sŒdipe – a little known masterpiece – stage director Àlex Ollé has had a unique occasion to explore one of the key figures of Greek antiquity: a man who was marked since birth by destiny, and who sets out in full maturity on an inner journey towards truth. 		A STAGE WITH A VIEW: ELISABETH ROUDINESCO Tickets Artists are not the only ones to find inspiration in the myth ofOedipus: this strange story intrigues psychoanalysts as well. On Sunday 6 November, historian Elisabeth Roudinesco will speak about the importance of the figure of Oedipus, from Freud to contemporary research, in a conference entitled 'Visages d’Œdipe. Une histoire de la psychanalyse', led by Françoise Wolff, director and journalist (known in particular for her documentary "Jacques Lacan parle"). The conference will be followed by the screening of "Jacques Lacan, La psychanalyse réinventée", a film directed by Elisabeth Roudinesco and Elisabeth Kapnist. 		ANGELIKA KIRCHSCHLAGER & JEAN-YVES THIBAUDET Franz Liszt and Johannes Brahms were both extraordinary pianists who belonged to the European elite, as composers as well as performers. Their qualities as pianists found expression in brilliant works for piano, and deeply influenced their approach to the liedgenre, in which the piano plays an essential role. 150 years after their creation, the works of Liszt and Brahms can still surprise us with their finely-formed texture, rich harmonic idiom and balanced form. 		REQUIEM Tickets This year, La Monnaie Symphony Orchestra's concert at the beginning of the month of November will include three magnificent works which constitute a moving tribute to the victims of some of the biggest human catastrophes of the 20th century: the siege of Leningrad, the bombing of Hiroshima and European fascisms.
